Moon Babies

One of the best gifts I ever received was a Mothers Day gift from my husband. We were in our first year as parents and totally broke. I knew that the pressure of Mother's Day was coming and I wanted to help him out a little. My husband is the best cook in the world, he cleans the house, he does the laundry, but... he once got me Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels for a Valentines gift. I enjoyed watching it with him and cuddling up and that was the best part.

As Mother's Day approached I gently asked him to please not buy me a gift. I told him that what I really wanted was for him to make me something. He looked at me and simply said "Alright". I tried to imagine what he would make for me and a painted baby handprint printed onto something was about as creative as I could get in my imagination! Mother's Day came and I could hardly wait to see what he had come up with. I can't remember exactly how he gave it to me but when he did I knew I had the best husband in the world. A small three inch square, covered with the most beautiful and delicate pink floral paper, and tied with a piece of yarn. I held it in my hand and felt the love radiating into my heart. It was better than holding a box and knowing that some type of shiny bling thing was wating to be discovered. I carefully untied the ribbon and opened my gift. It opened into a book, with three black and white pictures, all of my son and my family. I looked at the pictures and began to cry. It was absolutley fantastic. I was a mother and I was appreciated. Thanks Babe!
